Heb 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Jesus has allowed us to access the very presence of God. This is a free access, not just once a year as in the Old Testament, but anytime we choose; indeed, we could choose to live in His presence.
This free access to be with Father came at a price:
The Blood of Christ
Heb 9 11-14
11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,[a] he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[b] eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,[c] so that we may serve the living God!
Heb 10 15-23 15 The Holy Spirit also tells us about this. First he says: 16 "This is the agreement[a] I will make with them at that time, says the Lord. I will put my teachings in their hearts and write them on their minds." — Jeremiah 31:33 17
Then he says: "Their sins and the evil things they do— I will not remember anymore." — Jeremiah 31:34
18 Now when these have been forgiven, there is no more need for a sacrifice for sins. 19 So, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place without fear because of the blood of Jesus' death.20 We can enter through a new and living way that Jesus opened for us. It leads through the curtain—Christ's body.21 And since we have a great priest over God's house,22 let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, because we have been made free from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.23 Let us hold firmly to the hope that we have confessed, because we can trust God to do what he promised.
